Barry T. Leach

YORK – Barry T. Leach, 75, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Forest Park Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Carlisle.

Born July 29, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre, PA; a son of the late Harold W. and Rose Teresa (Soley) Leach, he was a graduate of York Suburban High School and then earned his Bachelor’s degree from York College of PA. Barry held a great love of music and was a successful drummer and singer with local bands, The Romans and Airport, in which he released multiple records in the mid-1960’s. He had also joined Jimmy Clanton’s band and played in the rhythm section. Barry worked in automotive sales in York Co. throughout his career.

Mr. Leach is survived by a son, Patrick M. Leach and his companion Hope Vergauwen of Knightdale, NC; a grandson, Caden Michael Leach; two sisters, Judy and husband Jose Pena of York and Barbara Ann and husband John DeLeon of York; and a nephew, J.F. (John Frederick) Richards, III.

A private graveside service will be held for Barry at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
