Barry E. Shaffer

Barry E. Shaffer, 87, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026 at Kingston Court Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Rosie M. (Miller) Shaffer to whom he was married for 55 years.

Born May 5, 1939 in York, he was the son of the late Norman E. Shaffer and Sylva M. (Nickey) Frey.

Mr. Shaffer was employed as a custodian for 30 years working at several schools in the York Suburban School District, Indian Rock Elementary and Valley View Elementary. He was also a long-time member of Windsor Church of God.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Shaffer is also survived by his adopted daughter and son, Joyce and Philip Mobley of Windsor and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Shaffer and one sister, Sylva Stambaugh.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00AM, Wednesday August 12, 2026 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. John G. Fetterhoff. A viewing will be held from 9:00-10:00AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
