Barry R. Arnold of Red Lion passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at age 78. Mr. Arnold was born on March 16, 1947 at York Hospital in York, PA. Mr. Arnold was the owner of Arnold Solutions, LLC in York. He was a 1965 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management in 1973 and Master of Business Administration Degree in 1986 from York College of Pennsylvania. Mr. Arnold was a U.S. Army veteran.
Barry was a past member of the Executive Board, served as Secretary/Treasurer, and was a former member of Local 472 American Federation of Musicians. He was also a member of the Spring Garden Band for 52 years, a past member of the Spring Garden Band Executive Board, and the Spring Garden Dance Band with which he performed at the Bloomsburg Fair for twenty-one years. He was President of the Spring Garden Band Old Timers for ten years.
Mr. Arnold served from 1968 to 1971 in the First U.S. Army Band at Ft. Meade, MD and the U.S. Continental Army Command Band at Ft. Monroe, VA. He also performed with the York Symphony, many local dance bands; the former Kiwanis Boys Band, City Band of York, and the York Youth Symphony.
He was a past member of the Red Lion Jaycees and served as President in 1980-81; a member of Zeredatha-White Rose Lodge No. 451, Free and Accepted Masons; The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Harrisburg; a former member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York Forest No. 30 and the York Tall Cedars Band. Mr. Arnold formerly served on the Legislative Committee, the Industrial Relations Council, and the Education and Training Committee of the Manufacturers’ Association of South Central Pennsylvania. He was also a past member of the York County Private Industry Council and the York Area Chamber of Commerce Congressional Action Committee. He was a Life Member of the York County Agricultural Society. Barry was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, where he served on Church Council and held positions of Vice President, Treasurer, Chairman of the Stewardship Committee, and the Chairman of Men’s Ministry.
He is survived by a sister, Karen S. Arnold in York; three daughters and their husbands, Suzanne (Woodg) Horning in NY, Allyson (Michael) and grandson Wyatt Scheck in FL, and Denise (Ryan) Heck in MD. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy C. and Lois M. (Givens) Arnold; and a companion of 21 years, Valerie S. Rightor.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1907 Hollywood Drive, York, PA 17403 with his Pastor, The Rev. Vanessa L. Storlie officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Masonic Rites by Zeredatha-White Rose Lodge No. 451 will be held at 10:45 AM. Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery with military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is honored to serve the family.
