WINDSOR- Barry B. Hivner, 88, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Rose Marie (Steinfelt) Hivner. The couple planned to celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary in November.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Allison Duke officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.

Born on October 28, 1936 in York, he was the son of the late Lester P. and Mary G. Hivner. Barry worked for GTE and Teledyne-McKay Co over the years and retired from BAE.

Mr. Hivner was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Dallastown. In his spare time, he enjoyed spelunking, rock hunting, fishing, hunting, especially the trips to Wyoming and traveled to 48 states with his wife. He was a member of the National Speleological Society, Windsor Fish & Game Association and Yorkana Game & Gun Club. He was a rock hound at heart.

Along with his wife, Rose Marie, Barry is survived by his son, Jeffrey Hivner and his wife, Valerie of Red Lion; three daughters, Kristina Kreeger and her significant other, Steve Workman of Windsor, Sharon Hivner and her significant other, Dale Walter of Windsor and Juliana Hivner of Windsor; six grandchildren, William Armstrong, Sean Nailor, Kyle Nailor, Joshua Rohrbaugh, Nathan Breighner and Angel Workman; nine great grandchildren, Sawyer, Austen, Hunter, Lyla, Luciana, Carter, Mariah, Jacob and Zackary; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Hivner
