Barbara J. (Ford) Place

MANCHESTER – Barbara J. (Ford) Place, 67, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Manor Care – Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late John L. Place who passed away on Dec. 18, 2011. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Born March 1, 1945 in Green, NY, a daughter of the late Cecil and Isadore (Weed) Ford, she retired from Red Lion Controls. Mrs. Place enjoyed working with crafts, upholstering, and antique refinishing. Mrs. Place is survived by a son, John C. Place of Alexandria, VA; three grandsons, John H. Place, and Orin and Alex Hagner; two brothers, Charles Ford and Frederick Ford of Fall River, Mass.; and a sister, Marie Maiden of New York.
