YORK- Barbara Pauline (Frey) Fetterman, 91, passed away on October 1, 2025 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Kelly Drive. She was the wife of the late Karl S. Fetterman who passed away in November of 2008. The couple wed on May 2, 1971.
Barbara was born on October 23, 1933 in York, the daughter of the late C. Benarr and Esther (Quigley) Frey. She graduated from Allentown Nursing School where she received her degree in nursing. Following her education, Mrs. Fetterman was employed at Old Memorial Hospital where she was the head nurse, Williamsport Hospital in the ER department, and Mt. Rose Family Practice.
Barbara was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church in Glen Rock and also attended Living Word Community Church in Red Lion. She enjoyed knitting, photography, angels, and everything butterflies.
Mrs. Fetterman is survived by her son Steven Flickinger and his wife, Peggy of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Michael Flickinger and his wife, Tabby of Lima, OH, and Michelle Schussler and her husband, Chuck of Chambersburg; two step grandchildren, Brad Weiser and his wife Heather, and Mike Weiser; four great grandchildren, Josh, Lilly, Niki, and Rachel; and three step great grandchildren, Laurel, Kellen, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Alvin Frey and Richard “Dick” Frey.
A private graveside service will take place at Red Lion Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Kathy Harvey Nelson and Pastor Connie Milchling officiating the service. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11 AM at SpiriTrust Lutheran, 750 Kelly Dr, York, PA 17404. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
