Austin Camasso

Hughestown - Austin Camasso, 82, of Hughestown, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Highland Manor Nursing Center, Exeter. Born in Hughestown on January 17, 1927, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose (Sabetta) Camasso. He was a graduate of Hughestown High School and a US Army veteran. He was employed at Craft Oil Co., and after retirement rebuilt appliances. He was a member of Holy Rosary Chruch, Duryea, and a former member of the Polish Club, Dupont and other social clubs in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Duszak) Camasso; daughter, Roseann Lozowski; brothers, Carmen, Michael, Anthony; and sister, Anna Costanzo. Surviving are his daughter, Belinda Smith; grandchildren, Shalimar Kendricks and Austin Smith, great granddaughter, Maryann Kendricks; nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 PM at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 728 Main Street, Avoca, with Reverend Charles Rokasz officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
