Arvilla M. Oberdorff

YORK- Arvilla M. Oberdorff, 93, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Normandie Ridge in York. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Normandie Ridge’s Chapel, 1700 Normandie Dr. in York, with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. Peter A. Seiler, Jr. and The Reverend Dennis A. Hummel will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Miss Oberdorff was born in Windsor on May 28, 1918, a daughter of the late Simon W. and Nora (Markle) Oberdorff. She retired as a Division Manager for Sears in York. Miss Oberdorff was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church, where she was active in the 55+ organization. She also had volunteered at Normandie Ridge. Miss Oberdorff leaves a niece, Sylvia A. Caulkins and her husband Nick; three great nieces and nephews, Ed Caulkins, Scott Caulkins, and Sheryl Carner; and great, great nieces and nephews. A sister, Mabel I. Heiser had preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Normandie Ridge, Church Fund, 1700 Normandie Dr., York, PA 17408.
