Arthur Lee Hershey, Jr., of Glen Rock, passed away at his home on August 26, 2024 surrounded by his four children. He was born on June 28, 1927, in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by dedication to his family. Outside of work, Arthur found joy in various hobbies and interests. He loved farming, which allowed him to take pleasure in the great outdoors. His enthusiasm for learning extended to collecting novelty coins and tracing his family history, pursuits through which he fostered his love for knowledge and exploration. In his later years he got great enjoyment from watching his songbirds at his feeders as well as the occasional Deer, Turkey and Groundhog
Arthur is survived by his three sons, A. Lynn Hershey of Spring Grove, Michael J. Hershey of Manchester, MD, and Kim R. Hershey of Shippensburg, as well as his daughter, Susan Hershey-Titterton of Philadelphia. He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather of 14. His legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his six older siblings.
Arthur will be remembered as a devoted family man and a dedicated worker, whose impact on the lives of his family and friends was profound and lasting. His life of 97 years was a testament to the values of hard work, love, and service, and he will be greatly missed.
