JERSEY SHORE - Annabelle M. (Simcox) Pelton, 88, of South Avis died Thursday, Dec., 1 2022 at Geisinger, Jersey Shore Hospital.
Born May 13, 1934 in Lock Haven she was a daughter of the late Hallie and Sarah J. (Rhoades) Simcox.
She was married on November 4, 1954 to Edward C. “Eddie” Pelton, Jr. who died November 17, 2012. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together.
Anna worked as a teacher’s aide at Dickey Elementary for 35 years retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Emmanuel Community Church in South Avis and was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Lock Haven American Legion and the Castanea Fire Hall.
Anna enjoyed playing cards, dice, reading, watching movies, crocheting, drawing and spending time with her children and great grandchildren.
Surviving are a son; Corey E. Pelton of Woolrich, four daughters, Trudy J. Bailey of Linden, Tammey D. Hamilton of Avis, Arleen W. Marshall of Lock Haven and Tonya S. Bertin of Jersey Shore. She is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna Marie Stephens and Tracey V. Willits along with four brothers, Joe, Dave, Bill and Hallie.
A memorial service is being planned and will be announced. Interment will be private at Quiggle Cemetery.
