Anna R. Woodward

POTTSVILLE- Anna R. Woodward, 92, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday evening at Providence Place, Pottsville. Born in Saint Clair on June 29, 1919, she was a daughter of the late James and Agnes Holohan McCormick. She was a 1938 graduate of Saint Clair High School. She worked as a checker at A & P Grocery Store, Saint Clair, and worked for Dr. Ritter, Pottsville. Anna was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. She was a former member of Rest Haven Auxilary, Amity Club, Pottsville Garden Club and the Pottsville Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Woodward, who passed away September 17, 1985; her four brothers, James, John, Francis and Robert McCormick. Anna is survived by her son, William J. Woodward, husband of Grazyna Szlam, of Lansdale; she was the last member of her immediate family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Patrick’s Church, 4th & Mahantongo Streets, Pottsville. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
