Anna M. (Stricker) Reed

POTTSVILLE - Anna M. Reed, 97, widow of the late Geogre Reed, of Minersville died at ManorCare, Pottsville, Saturday morning, where she had been a resident since 2001. Born in Jefferson Township on Jan. 27, 1910, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Kate Boltz Stricker. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist church, being affiliated with congregations at Hampton Heights (Berks county), Williamsport, Wadesville and Pottsville. She was a leader in the Community Services department of the local churches. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a son Gerald Melvin Deitrick, two sisters, Ida and Florence; and six brothers, Lester, Allan, Bryan, Roy, Sylvester and Charles. Surviving Anna are: nieces; nephews; and friends, Margaret Birdsall and William Delker. A memorial service will be held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1213 Mahontongo St., Pottsville on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM, with Pastor Alex Dubee presiding. Family and friends may call at the church from 7:00 PM until time of service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Bern Cemetery, Bern Township.
