Ann E. (Herrman) Sprenkle, 92, of Red Lion, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Country Meadows of York – South. She was the wife of H. Burnell Sprenkle with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at St. Paul’s Church, 45 1st Avenue, Red Lion with Pastor Chris Nauta and Rev. Stephany S. Sechrist officiating. A viewing will be held from 4-6:00 PM Wednesday at the Church. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Ann was born on August 5, 1933 at home in Red Lion and was a daughter of the late Henry J. and Miriam E. (Stein) Herrman. She was a 1951 graduate of Red Lion Area High School and during her younger years enjoyed working with her grandparents at the Red Lion Flower House and her father at Herrman Printing Company. In 1954 Ann earned her Registered Nurse degree from York Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an RN at York Hospital until the birth of her first child. Ann then began attending Millersville College, graduating in 1961 with her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She served as a Health teacher and School Nurse at Red Lion Junior High until her retirement.

Mrs. Sprenkle was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Church where she sang in the Church Choir for over 50 years; was in charge of the nursery for 30 years; served on numerous committees including the Admin. Board, Stephen Ministry, coordinating volunteers for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, helped found the committee to serve dinners during the RL New Year’s Eve festivities, and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Ann was a Past President and member of the Red Lion BPW, enjoyed socializing in her card clubs, and during retirement she served on Red Lion School Board. Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband Burnell on trips covering all 50 US States, South America, England, Iceland, France, Spain, Italy, Monaco, and visiting the Caribbean Islands and Mexico on cruises. More than anything she loved spending as much time as possible with her children and grandsons.

In addition to her husband Burnell, Mrs. Sprenkle is survived by three children, Mark H. Sprenkle of Newark, DE, Susan E. and husband David A. Bryhan of Red Lion, and David A. and wife Jodi A. Sprenkle of Red Lion; two grandsons, Kyle D. and wife Leanna Sprenkle and Ryan A. and wife Allison Sprenkle; three great grandchildren, Dean, Ella, and Grace Sprenkle; and a nephew, Jeffrey and wife Ratha Herrman. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Sprenkle; a brother, Henry P. Herrman; and a sister, Jane E. Herrman.
