Anita Y. Spahr

DALLASTOWN - Anita Y. (Ziegler) Spahr, 78, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leonard H. Spahr, Sr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ, 1009 Blymire Road, Dallastown with her pastor, The Rev. Lou Ann Jones officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born February 6, 1939 in Shrewsbury Twp., a daughter of the late Ralph S. and Maretta G. (Lindsey-Bailey) Ziegler, she retired from York Hospital after 37 years of service. Mrs. Spahr enjoyed playing bingo and knitting and crocheting hats and blankets for the NICU and her Church. She was a member of St. John's Blymire's UCC. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Stacy Fisher-Woods and the VNA Staff for taking great care of Anita. Mrs. Spahr is survived by a son, Michael C. Forry and wife Kerry; three daughters, Kitty L. (Krout) Slobozien and husband Jeffrey, Kristi L. Maus and Marcia D. Spahr-Boykin; a stepson, Leonard H. Spahr, Jr.; two stepdaughters, Yolonda L. Forry and husband Steven and Lisa Brooke; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a sister, Pamela E. Mummert. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Deborah Spahr; a great granddaughter, Korrin Krout; and a brother, H. Levere Ziegler.
