NEW OXFORD – Anita M. (Sholtis) Jacobs, 78, died on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Cross Keys Personal Care. She was the loving wife of the late William H. Jacobs to whom she was married for 48 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at First Church of the Brethren, 2710 Kingston Rd., York, with Pastor Joel Gibbel officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Burial will be held 12:00 PM at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
Born March 7, 1944 in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Donley) Sholtis. After graduating from high school, Mrs. Jacobs attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with a Bachelors of Education in 1966. Mrs. Jacobs then spent the majority of her career teaching kindergarten and second grade at West York Elementary School. Mrs. Jacobs was a fun, adventurous woman, and loved traveling, playing cards, watching sports, knitting and drawing.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by a son, David A. Jacobs and his wife, Karen of Bel Air, MD; a daughter, Cheryl L. Orndorff and her husband Mark, of Gettysburg; four grandchildren, Morgan and Aaron Orndorff, and Benjamin and Charlotte Jacobs; and a brother, Charles Sholtis and his wife, Marty. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jacobs is preceded in death by a brother, James B. Sholtis.
