Anita L. Neal

YORK – Anita L. (Stough) Neal, 75, passed away Sunday November 6, 2022 at ProMedica York-North. She was the wife of the late Jeffrey L. Neal.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2022 at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York with Pastor Brett Ayers officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 10-11:00 AM Friday at Church of the Open Door. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. As we celebrate Anita’s life and her bright and fun personality, the family requests for you to wear the color Blue to the viewings and service.

Born May 15, 1947 in York, a daughter of the late Louise M. (Hose) and Wilbur E. Stough, Jr.; she was a 1965 graduate of West York Area High School. Mrs. Neal had worked at York Tape & Label as a young adult and then later began working at Church of the Open Door where she served for 25 years. In addition to being a member of Church of the Open Door, Anita taught children’s Sunday School and helped with the Wings program for the intellectually disabled. She enjoyed knitting and sewing; playing Bingo with her husband; shopping, yardsaling and spending time with her granddaughters; watching her beloved Miami Dolphins; and attending her weekly movie club with her ladies.

Mrs. Neal is survived by her son, Mark A. and wife Jennifer Neal of Dover; two granddaughters, Cali and Aubrey Neal; a niece, Jessica Vansickle; and two nephews, Nathan and Alex Fry. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline M. Frey and Frances Stough.
