Almena M. Motaka

Almena M. Motaka, 100, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Sprenkle Drive.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday May 29, 2026 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Reverend Timothy Sadler officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. 

Born on August 30, 1925 in Spring Grove, Almena was a daughter of the late William Mckindley and Esther Bell (Goodyear) Hoover. She was a member of the Stewartstown Area Senior Center and St. John’s “Sadlers” Lutheran Church where she was a part of the council.

Almena leaves behind a sister Naomi Reimold and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Eugena Motaka; and her siblings Calvin Hoover, Richard Hoover, David Hoover, Eleanor Toddes, Arthur Hoover, Susan Hoover, Amanda Jane Rhae, William Hoover and Kenneth Hoover.
