YORK - Allen May 53, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 30, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Becky (Douglas) May to whom he was married for 27 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Otterbein United Methodist Church of Spry, 50 School Street, York with his pastor, The Rev. Thomas H. Sanagorski officiating. Visitations will be held from 6:30-8:30 PM Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 9-10:00 AM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Otterbein U.M. Cemetery. Born August 29, 1955 in York a son of Arthur A. and Joan E. (Stump) May of York, he was a graduate of Dallastown High School and earned his Bachelor and Master's Degrees in Engineering from Penn State University. He was Vice President of Engineering for Providence Engineering Corp. in Lancaster for the past 11 years. During his 30-year career as a structural engineer he had worked for firms in York, Lancaster, and Baltimore; and held a professional engineering license in numerous states. Allen spent many years as a coach for EYC basketball, York Little League, and Junior Legion baseball. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. May is survived by two sons, Andy A. and Kevin M. May both of York; two sisters, Lisa A. and husband Jan Snyder of Windsor and Julie E. Reynolds of Bainbridge, Lanc. Co.; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suburban York Legion Baseball, 311 S. Kershaw Street, York, PA 17402.
