RED LION Wilma E. (Bartenslager) McGuigan, 88, a lifelong resident of Red Lion, died early Sunday morning, May 5, 2013, at Country Meadows at Leader Heights. She was the beloved wife of the late Joe S. McGuigan, whom she married on May 24, 1947. A memorial service will be at noon Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion with her pastor, the Rev. Ronald Doverspike, officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the church. A private burial will be at Red Lion Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McGuigan was born January 19, 1925, in York. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Dellinger) Bartenslager. She was a 1942 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School and later worked for the district as a school secretary at the former Edgar Moore Elementary School from its opening in 1964 until her retirement. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and the Four Fold Friends Sunday School Class. She also found enjoyment in doing needlework, dancing and traveling with her late husband, playing the piano and playing card games with her friends. Mrs. McGuigan will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joyce Hagen and husband, Peter of Mays Landing, NJ; her son, Keith McGuigan and wife, Margo of Dallastown; grandchildren: Benjamin, Zachary and Daniel Hagen, Matthew McGuigan and wife, Alexis, and Kelli Wise and husband, Brian; and five great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Lion Area Educational Foundation, 696 Delta Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356 or Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356.
