William Peter Svirskas

YORK, PA- William Peter Svirskas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 23, 2007. He was born November 23, 1919 in Bridgeport. He was a resident of York, PA since 1987. He will be remembered forever by his loving family which includes his wife of 60 years, Violet (Ludokiewich), a son William Joseph and his wife Madeline (Rouse), his granddaughter: Trisha and her husband Keith, a grandson, Stephen, all of York, as well as several nieces and nephews. William was a US Army Veteran, who served in the European Theater during WWII and received 5 battle stars. He was employed by Raybestos Corporation in Stratford, CT for 30 years and was also a member of the American Legion and St. George Catholic Church in Bridgeport. A service will be 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 6-7 p.m. Burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Saviour Cemetery in York, PA.
