YORK - Walter A. Kuhl, 92, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Manor Care South. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Klein) Kuhl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York with his nephew, The Rev. Michael Lang officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery with Full Military Rites provided by Cumberland Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Born November 29, 1917 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Walter A. and Mary (Hatton) Kuhl, he retired from the US Army as a Second Lieutenant. Lt. Kuhl proudly served six years of active duty service during WWII followed by 14 years in the US Army Reserves. After his military career, Mr. Kuhl was a tower operator for Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of Military Officers Assoc. of America, Reserve Officers Assoc., and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mr. Kuhl is survived by a son, Walter A. and wife Barbara Kuhl of York; two grandchildren, Walter A. J. Kuhl and Barbara J. Kuhl; and four great-grandchildren.
