YORK- Viola (Smeltzer) Clark, 81, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at York Hospital. She resided at Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Sprenkle Dr. She was the wife of the late James Thompson Clark. A service will be 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 6-7 p.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Robert S. Edmundson will be officiating at the service. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in New Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was born in York on April 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie Smeltzer. She was self employed as a beautician for over 30 years. Mrs. Clark was a member of New Harmony Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Dr. J.M. Hyson Memorial Court, Order of the Amaranth. Mrs. Clark leaves a son, Bartley J. Clark and his wife Diane of Red Lion, a daughter, Vickie C. Hannigan of York, a brother William Smeltzer and two sisters-in-law, Bertha Smeltzer and Betty Clark. She was preceded in death by two brother, Paul Smeltzer and Carl Smeltzer and a sister-in-law Patricia Smeltzer.
