NANTICOKE-Theresa “Tina” (Shemanski) Casaldi, 70, of the Honey Pot section of Nanticoke, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Nanticoke on October 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret (O’Donnell) Shemanski. Prior to retiring, Tina worked for Penn Foot Wear, Nanticoke, for 36 years. Tina loved the N.Y Yankees. She enjoyed putting on her jersey and watching the game with her cat, Lucky. She was also very fond of Elvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George E. Casaldi, who passed away June 2, 2005; two brothers, Theodore “Whitey” and Michael “Moe” Shemanski. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters; Georgene Piscotty and her husband, Ken, Hanover Township; Justine Gugliotti, Nanticoke; three grandchildren, Emery Vojtko, Courtney Vojtko, Brooke Piscotty; a brother, Gerald Shemanski and his wife, Mary, Honey Pot; several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc. 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 11:30 AM in the mausoleum chapel at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. The Reverend Joseph Kakareka will officiate. Anyone attending the services is asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no procession from the funeral home.
