YORK Theodore S. “Ted” Hoffmaster, Jr. 82, of Springettsbury Twp. died at 9:03 a.m. Friday Morning at his home. He was the husband of Barbara R. (Greenholt) Hoffmaster with whom he celebrated a 39th wedding anniversary on April 4 2014. Following cremation, a committal ceremony with full military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with the Rev. Larry A. Carpenter, pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hoffmaster was born December 24, 1931, in York. He was the son of the late Theodore S. and Ethel M. (Boyer) Hoffmaster. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and later, in 1990, retired from Caterpillar as a supervisor after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of Harmony Grove Church, the West York Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Hawks Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hoffmaster is survived by his two sons, Tedd Hoffmaster and his wife, Sharon of Kreutz Creek and Timothy Burhans and his wife, Kelly of Harrisburg; his four daughters, Rita Beachy of North Richland Hills, TX, Gabriella Sullivan and her husband, Brian of Rockwall, TX, Catherine Pettit and R. Christine Sauder, both of York; two grandsons, Travis and Josh; nine step grandchildren, Ryan, Brittanie, Dalton, Carter, Ian, Alex, Nicole, Troy Anthony and TJ; one great granddaughter, Ava; two step great grandchildren, Bellah and Cadence; and a brother, Barry Jacobs of Sun City, CA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Barnes. Memorial contributions may be made to the York SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
