WILLIAMSPORT- Sylvia (Feingold) Sheiman, 88, of Williamsport, Pa passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Williamsport Hospital. She was the loving wife of Morton Sheiman. Sylvia was born on Feb. 18, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late Hyman and Rose (Berson) Feingold. She received her bachelors of education degree from Bloomsburg University and went on to teach business at the Montoursville High School for 20 years. Sylvia was a member of the Pennsylvania Public School Employees Association. She was a member of Congregation Ohev Sholom and its sisterhood. Family members who survive Sylvia include her husband Morton of Williamsport, her brother Isaac Feingold of Lansdale, Pa, and many nephews and nieces. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her son Lawrence Jay Sheiman who passed away in 1979, her brothers Harry, George, and Robert Feingold, and her sister Nettie Golden. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 331 Elmira St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Ohev Sholom Cemetery with her spiritual leader, Rabbi Mac Portal, officiating. In keeping with Jewish tradition, there will be no flowers. Contributions may be made in Sylvia's memory to the Congregation Ohev Sholom, 1501 Cherry Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
