Ruby Pearl Stevenson

LOCK HAVEN - Ruby Pearl (Rishel) Stevenson, 99, of Castanea passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Susque View. She was born in Lock Haven on December 4, 1918 a daughter of Harry and Frances (Herman) Rishel. They had 12 children, six boys and six girls. The family moved from their farm on the island to a farm in Loganton in March of 1919 after deciding not to live though another flood. She married Calvin Harold Stevenson on December 25, 1936. They were married for 68 years when Calvin died June 16, 2005. Mrs. Stevenson was a homemaker and attended Faith (Castanea) United Methodist Church. Pearl enjoyed fishing, quilting, crocheting, canning, baking and loved tending to her garden and flowers. She is survived by her son Wayne (Judi) Stevenson of Omaha, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, six brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Rick Conklin officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
