DALLASTOWN- Robert L. Leake, 92, passed away on Tuesday July 13, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Loureda L. (McIlvain) Leake. The couple would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on July 26. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus with his pastor, the Reverend Ray Hatcher officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church. A flag folding ceremony will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard prior to the service. Burial will be private. Mr. Leake was born on November 6, 1917 in Johnson City, N.Y., a son of the late William M. and Elizabeth (Stetson) Leake. Robert worked as a supervisor for the former York Caramel Co. for 38 years until his retirement. Mr. Leake and his wife were members of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus. Mr. Leake served our country for three years in the U.S. Army Corps during WWII. Mr. Leake was a life member of Pleasureville American Legion, Victory Club, Goodwill Fire Co. of York Twp. and the DAC Club. He was also active at Christ Lutheran Church of Spry for 55 years before become a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Along with his wife, Loureda, Mr. Leake is survived by a stepson, Craig Stump and his wife, Carol of York; a granddaughter, Amanda Poff and her husband, Daniel of Jacobus; three great grandchildren, Hannah, Harper, and Hudson Robert; and a beloved dog, Feona. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Leake and William Leake; and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Rd., Jacobus, PA 17407.
