Rebecca E. (Stewart) Miller

YORK- Rebecca E. (Stewart) Miller, 74, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services-South. She was the wife of the late Chester G. Miller, who passed away on August 24, 1989. A celebration of life tribute service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with her Pastor, the Reverend David Tietje officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 9-10 a.m. on Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Miller was born on May 22, 1937 in York, a daughter of the late Oran L. and Katherine (Davis) Stewart. Rebecca was a 1954 graduate of Red Lion High School. Before marriage, Rebecca worked at Kaltreider Box Factory. During her married years, she was a homemaker. After her husband’s passing, she worked at Tighe Industry Sewing Company for 12 years until her retirement in 2005. Mrs. Miller was a member of St. John’s UCC in Red Lion Mrs. Miller was a life member of the Lakeview Power Yacht Club. She was also a member of Red Lion Legion Auxiliary, York Moose Lodge, VFW Auxiliary Post #2591 and the Red Hat Society. She also spent time volunteering at the Red Lion Senior Center. Mrs. Miller is survived by a brother, Oran “Bud” L. Stewart and his wife, Marlene of Rotonda West, Fl.; a sister, Gloria R. Miller and her husband, Edward of Red Lion; three nephews, Steven Miller, Mark Miller, and Ty Stewart; one niece, Misty Majors; and her late husband’s niece, Jody Tucker and her husband, Billy.
