WEST YORK- Raymond A. Rinehart, 92, died at 2:26 PM Sunday, April 6, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Opal M. (Watson) Rinehart, to whom he was married to for 70 years. Private funeral services for the immediate family will be held at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008. His pastor, the Rev. Brenda J. Ferree will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Green Mount Cemetery. Mr. Rinehart was born December 24, 1915 in Violet Hill, York. He was the son of the late Allen S. Rinehart and the late Sadie (Swartz) Rinehart. He retired from Green's Dairy in 1979. Mr. Rinehart was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a member of the Church's Senior Group. He was a member of the Vikings Athletic Association, the West York VFW Post # 8951, Shiloh American Legion Post # 791, The Democratic Club, and Lake Clarke Rescue Club. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Rinehart leaves a daughter, Donna Spangler of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Larry A. Rinehart and wife Lois of York and Robert R. Rinehart and wife Joan of York. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Russell, Ervin, and Charles Rinehart and one sister, Irene Sloan. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 25 N. Adams St. York, PA 17404.
