York—Ralph C. Eichelberger, 86, died Friday, December 27, 2007 at the Lebanon Veteran's Medical Center. He was the husband of Eleanor Raby Eichelberger to whom he was married for 37 years. A funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Eichelberger was born October 24, 1921 in York, a son of the late Walter M. and Marta (Foreman) Eichelberger. He attended Penn State University where earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering. He was employed as an Engineer and throughout his career he worked for McKay Chain, Intext Communication Systems and Stanley Tools. A United States Air Force Captain and veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the Dallastown American Legion, Dutch Club Officers and the Manor Club of York. In addition to his wife, Mr. Eichelberger is also survived by one son, Ralph C. Eichelberger Jr., one daughter; Sandra Fulton, four step daughters; Lynn Blymire Newhard, Janice Rehmeyer, Susan Greenfield and Lisa Airing, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, one sister, Gladys Conard and her husband Harry and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one step-son, Steven J. Raby. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Madison Ave Church of the Brethren, 645 Madison Ave., York, Pa 17404 to celebrated Ralph C. Eichelberger's Life.
