YORK- Phyllis Shank Nace, 79, of Wellsville, died Sunday September 27, 2009 at Manor Care North. She was the loving wife of Ervin W. Nace, Jr., to whom she was married to for 51 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, with the Reverend Timothy H. Imes officiating. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Nace was born August 12, 1930 in Mount Wolf, a daughter of the late Lloyd G. and Mary E. (McCullough) Shank.
Mrs. Nace was a 1948 graduate of Manchester High School and lived and worked all her life in York County, including as a proprietor with her husband in the 1970's of Nace's Country Store in Newberry Twp. Phyllis was a member of Pinchot Park Assembly of God. She enjoyed being a Grandma, playing games and doing crossword puzzles, telling stories about family and growing up in Mount Wolf and watching Gaithers, GSN and PBR.
Along with her husband, Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Judy Nace of Dillsburg; her daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Raymond Hamilton of Hector, AR.; three grandsons, Alec Nace of Carlisle and John and Ken Nace of Dillsburg; a granddaughter, Lydia Hamilton of Hector, Ar.; a step-grandson, Ace Hamilton of Morrilton, Ar.; a step-granddaughter, Kristie Hamilton of Morrilton, Ar.; a step-great-granddaughter, Aliza Ahouse of Morrilton, AR.; and a brother Eddie Shank and wife Deanna of York. Preceding her in death was a sister, Dorothy E. King.
