Dover—Paul A. Hoffer, 71, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kelly J. (Shaull) Hoffer to whom he was married for 10 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3PM, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Church of Open Door (Main Sanctuary), 8 Carlisle Court, York, Pa 17404. Born May 22, 1946 in Abington, he was a son of the late Harold N. and Gertrude M. (Crowther) Hoffer. He was employed as an electrician with Amtrak for several years. A United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also a railroad enthusiast, known as a foamer and attended Church of Open Door in York. In addition to his wife, Paul is also survived by two daughters, Yvonne J. Hare of York and Julie A. Hoffer of York; one brother, Eric P. Hoffer of Harrisburg; three grandchildren; one sister, Barbara H. Teyssier of York and two nephews, Stephen P. Teyssier and Benjamin N. Teyssier of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by one sister, Miriam Hoffer and one brother, David Hoffer. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., National Office, 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60606.
