Mildred P. (Hengst) Dellinger, 90, Country Meadows of Leader Heights, York, PA, passed away on February 9, 2011. She was born on June 20, 1920 in Jacobus, PA to Urban and Lottie Hengst. She is survived by daughter Connie and husband Bob Fish, Green Valley, AZ; granddaughter Karen and husband Dan, and great-grandchildren, Caroline, Carter, and Chloe Chraska, Copper Canyon, TX; grandson Barry Craft and Corinne Dowd, Spring Hill, TN; brother, Richard Hengst, Red Lion; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, David, her parents, five sisters, and five brothers. Mildred resided most of her life in Red Lion where she and her husband owned and operated the West End Service Station. She trained and worked as a Medical Assistant in various doctors\' offices and at the York Hospital. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Red Lion Historical Society, and St. Paul\'s United Methodist Church. She, along with her sister Goldie, played and sang on a local radio station, and performed at numerous events in York County during the 1930s. Singing, playing guitar, piano, and organ gave her and others much joy throughout her life. Mildred had a \"green thumb\" and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of plants, as well as seeds and cuttings, with family and friends. Her African Violets were a spectacle to behold, and brought color and beauty into her home. Shalom to you \"Mil,\" \"Mother,\" \"Millie,\" \"Grandma,\" \"Great Grandma Dellinger,\" \"Aunt Mildred.\" We send our love to you until we meet again! A funeral service to celebrate her life will be 2 pm, Monday, February 14, 2011 at St. Paul\'s United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave, Red Lion, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury, officiating. Viewings will be held from 5-7 pm, Sunday, at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, and Monday, from 1 to 2 pm, at the church. Interment will be held in Red Lion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul\'s United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, Pa 17356.
