YORK - Michael J. Bogus, 60, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. Michael was the husband of Karen Bogus. The couple had been together since the age of 15 and married for 41 years. A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, January 2, 2021 with celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. A time of visitation will be from 1PM until the time of the service at the Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York 17408. Born in Shamokin, PA on February 24, 1960, Mr. Bogus was the son of Bernard S. Bogus and Carol (Mattis) Gemberling. Michael worked for over 20 years with the R.G. Industries group as a hydraulic engineer assembler. Mike was active with the Deer Run camping family as well as a member of the Shiloh American Legion. He was a coach and equipment manager for Tri-Town Boys Club for almost 20 years. He also coached little league baseball and loved to bowl. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, his parents, his sons, Aaron M. Bogus and his wife, Melissa, Kyle J. Bogus and his wife, Sarah, Codie L. Bogus; grandchildren, Jacqueline R. Bogus, Alice J. Bogus, Cora A. Bogus; brothers, Stanley Bogus and Scott Gemberling; sisters, Stacy Bogus, Bernadine (Bogus) Richards, Crystal (Bogus) Hesketh and Tracie (Gemberling) Reichenbach. Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald L. Zukus and his sister, Patricia (Bogus) Gordon-Snyder.
