Merle A. "Moe" Clark, 85 of York died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Normandie Ridge. He was the husband of Helen C. [Stein] Clark with whom he was married for 61 years. A celebration of life service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. Peter A. Seiler, Jr., will officiate. A visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the York Chapel. Born December 31, 1921 in Sewickley, PA a son of the late Ralph and Mabel [McClymonds] Clark, he graduated from Coraopolis High School and earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Bucknell University. Mr. Clark was a member and past president of Shiloh Fire Co.; White Rose Senior Center where he served on the Board; Shiloh VFW, Post 791; and the Stalag Luft 3, POW Organization. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing, and was an active volunteer that served as a Boy Scouts of America Scout Master and helped build Penn Laurel Girl Scouts, Camp Echo Trail. He was a US Army veteran of WWII during which he served time in the Stalag Luft III Prisoner of War Camp in German. In addition to his wife, Mr. Clark is survived by a daughter, Bonnie E. and husband Sam Thomas of Bernville, PA; a son, Craig A. Clark of York; and five grandchildren, Jason Craun, Trevor Clark, Stephen and Geoffrey Thomas, and Jessica Newlin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair and Russ Clark.
