YORK - Melvin E. "Bud" Miller, Jr., 77, of Manchester Twp. died peacefully at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his home, with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Sheila J. (Bumbaugh) Miller with whom he celebrated a 29th wedding anniversary on May 7th and the late Jean (Weaver) Miller who died in 1977. A service to celebrate Mr. Miller's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery with Barry Trish, Matthew Trish, Troy Miller, Phillip Tosch, Brian Boyer and Chris Hoffman serving as pallbearers. Mr. Miller was born July 6, 1931, in York. He was the son of the late Melvin E., Sr. and Margaret (Rodgers) Miller. He retired as a machine operator with the former York International in 1994 after nearly 30 years of service with the company. In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller leaves two sons, Larry E. Miller of Lancaster and Tim L. Miller of York; two daughters, Cindy "Sue" Trish of York and Melody E. Hoffman, also of York; a step-son, Brian Boyer of York; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty L. Campbell of Dover. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Miller, and two sisters, Phyllis Myers and Jacqueline Roth.
