Mary Louise (Goodling) Vanartsdalen

Jacobus- Mary Louise (Gooding) VanArtsdalen, 94, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late John “Herb” VanArtsdalen to whom she was married for 48 years prior to his passing in 1995. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, 200 N. Main Street, Jacobus, with The Reverend Dr. Bryan Mann officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery. Born January 29, 1921 in Jacobus, Mary Louise was a daughter of the late Allen C. and Grace (Kinsey) Goodling. Mary Louise was a long time and very active member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was born and raised in Jacobus but left from time to time to travel the world extensively. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved spending time with and caring for her family. Mary Louise was a resident of Country Meadows Leader Heights for 19 years. Mrs. VanArtsdalen is survived by two daughters, Letitia Zellers and her husband Thomas of York and Lyrian VanArtsdalen of Waterville, PA; four grandchildren, Sarah Eisenhuth And her husband Sam of New Cumberland, Molly Gable and her husband Kent of York, Leah Hillemeyer and her husband Alex of Wallingford, PA and Hannah Zellers and her husband George Gard of Boston; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Royston of Willow Street, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Mary Louise was preceded in death by a son, Duane, four brothers and four sisters.
