Mary K. (Krug) Hoover

DOVER- Mary K. (Krug) Hoover, 95, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at the Lutheran Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Nevin R. Hoover. A funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday, December 29, 2007 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with the Rev. Richard E. Jorgensen, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born in Littlestown, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Helen (Julius) Krug, Sr. Mary was a life member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, was a graduate of William Penn Senior, class of 19M28 and a graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers' College. She was a teacher in the York City School District for 38 years, retiring in 1973. Mary was a member of the Lutheran Home Auxiliary, the Half Century Club of St. Matthew and the state; and York County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Mary is survived by a son, Joseph R. and his wife, Karen Hoover of Ocean City, MD; two grandchildren; a brother, George and his wife, Gloria Krug of York; and a sister, Catherine and her husband, Fred May. A brother, Henry Krug, precedes her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
