DOVER—Mary E. (Hibner) Ott Acker, 75, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2021 at her residence in Dover Township. A viewing will be held from 5-8PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. All PA Dept. of Health COVID-19 guidelines and capacity restrictions will be followed with masks required. A Celebration of Life Service will be livestreamed on the Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc Facebook page at www.facebook.com/heffnertributes/live at 10AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021. A public Graveside Service will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday at Mount Rose Cemetery. Friends and family planning on attending the service should meet at the Mount Rose Ave entrance of the cemetery at 11:15AM. Born March 30, 1945 in York, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. Hibner Sr., and Goldie E. (Lowe) Hibner. Throughout her working career she was employed with Shiny Brite Glass in Emigsville and later Osram Sylvania where she spent 36 years before retiring in 2009. After her retirement she worked for several years at Greatest Frame Rocker-Jerry Grant. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Scratch Off Club, Hopewell Area Senior Center and attended Sherman Valley Church. Mrs. Acker is survived by four children, Brenda McKinley and husband Tim of Etters, Doris Gable and husband, Brian of York, Frederick Ott Jr., and wife, Karen of York and Franklin Ott Sr., and wife, Beth of Dover; six grandchildren, Richard Covert Jr., Tiffany Covert, Ryan Wilt, Amanda Gable, Serenda Wright and Franklin Ott Jr.; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Marquerite Welsh, Dorothy Markle, twin Meredith Herman and Goldie Robins and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hibner Jr. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
