LEWISBURG - Madeline R. (Tobias) Zimmerman, 85, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was born on June 23, 1932 in Washongtonville and was the daughter of the late Michale and Anna (Solomon) Tobias. On February 7, 1959 Madeline married the late Amos S. Zimmerman and they celebrated 43 years of marriage together until his death on May 20, 2002. Madeline was a graduate of the Danville Area High School, Class of 1950. She went on to work for and retire as a secretary and bookkeeper from Chef Boy Ardee. Madeline was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Milton where she was very active and involved in many of the woman’s groups. She was also a past leader in the local 4H clubs. Madeline’s passion was gardening and taking care of her fruit trees. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Charles and Penny Zimmerman of New Berlin and Gary and Crystal Zimmerman of Milton, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and one sister; Eleanor Valushin of Lewisburg. In addition to her parents and husband, Madeline was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Broadway Street, Milton, Pa 17947. A public viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Milton with the Reverend John Hoke officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Milton.
