Mabel A. Warner, 94, of East Hopewell Township, died Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Dallastown Nursing Center where she was a resident for the past three years. She was the wife of Charles Elmer “Dick” Warner with whom she shared 55 years of marriage prior to his passing on March 28, 2007. Born June 17, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Edward S. and Iva A. (Brown) Workinger. raised in Windsor Borough, and after her marriage returned to East Hopewell township where she and Elmer worked together on their farm. Mrs. Warner was a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brogue PA. And she participated in God Followers and enjoyed the church picnics. She was also a member of Farm Women Group #12. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters, as well as cooking, baking and being outdoors. Mabel is survived by her daughters; Jane Grove (Barry) of Felton, Linda Stern (Richard) of Felton, and Amy Grove (Max) of New Park; an extended family that includes 7 grandchildren; Eric Grove, Kate Szymusiak, John Grove, Leslie Freeman, Sara Snyder, Ashley Murrow, and Emily Burchins; 10 great grandchildren; Tyler, Allyson, Charlotte, Jack, Henry, Scarlett, Eli, Bryant, Lily and Clint; and her sister Ruth Hill of Aston, PA. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Robert Brown, Helen Warner, Louise Warner and Richard Workinger. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Rd, Brogue PA 17309 with her Pastor, Rev. Kathleen Kuehl officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family is asking that all those attending the service wear a mask.
