York—Lula J. (Curlin) Peters, 75, died January 11, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Charles W. Peters, to whom she was married for 52 years. A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2007 at Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 N. Beaver St, York, Pa, with her pastor, the Rev. Michael W. Langford and Rev. Percy D. Brown, officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Peters was born October 19, 1931 in Wilson, North Carolina, the daughter, of the late James E. and A. Lula (Kennedy) Curlin. She was employed as a Secretary with Messiah United Methodist Church for 20 years, until her retirement 1994. A life member of Messiah United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the church's Joy Sunday school class. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Peters, is also survived by two daughters, LuAnn J. Peters, of Charlotte, NC, and Susan K. Walker and her husband, Daniel of Manchester, two grandchildren, Laura E. Forinash and ET3 Aaron D. Walker, United States Navy, two brothers, Marvin E. Curlin of Reno, NV, and Norman E. Curlin of Concord, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Charlie, Curtis and Robert Curlin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 N. Beaver St., York, Pa 17404.
