YORK- Lionel R. "Butch" Pomerleau, 52, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Judithe A. (Minichino) Pomerleau to whom he was married for 32 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, officiating will be the Rev. Charles L. Persing. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Mr. Pomerleau was born June 22, 1956 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, a son to the late Lionel Pomerleau and Marcelle (Fenton) Hayes. Mr. Pomerleau was self-employed as a carpenter. He enjoyed Texas Hold'em, bowling, and softball. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Teams. In addition to his wife, Mr. Pomerleau is survived by two sons, Lionel R. Pomerleau Jr., and his wife, Mindy of Newfield, NJ and Lawrence M. Pomerleau, and his wife, Danneill of York; a daughter, Amy B. Grendell and her husband Joe of York; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Driggers of Derry, NH and Annette Huckins of Manchester, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Roger Pomerleau. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
