DANVILLE- Laura J. (Allen) Walker, 85, of Danville and formerly of Bear Creek, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at her son's home in Danville. Born on April 14, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel (Harris) Allen. She was a graduate of Jermyn High School. She was a receptionist for Dr. Lewis Buchman of Wilkes-Barre. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, volunteered frequently at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in the hospitality shop, and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Walker; her son, John A. Walker; and her brother, Robert Allen. She is survived by her loving children, Clinton Walker, and his wife, Nancy, Danville; and Linda Mack, and her husband, Butch, Barnesville. In addition she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Matthew J. Mack, Joshua Mack and his wife, Kimberly, Laura Gnall, John Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Greg Titman, Ben Titman; and one great-granddaughter, Kylee Elizabeth Mack; as well as a sister, Allene Burns, Olyphant. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 2, at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre PA, 18701 at 11am with Rev. Reginald Thomas, of Messiah Primitive Methodist Church, Bear Creek, officiating. Internment will follow at Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.
