Kristin Elizabeth Cuff

POTTSVILLE - Kristin Elizabeth Cuff, 27, of Pottsville, died Saturday night at the Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp. Born in Pottsville, on Feb 27, 1982, she was the daughter of Donald and Catherine (Stanton) Cuff, of Pottsville. Kristin was a 2000 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, where she was a member of the 1998-99 & 1999-2000 Class A girls basketball state champions. In 2000, Kristin was named the Class A Small School Player of the Year in Pennsylvania. In 2004, Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from Saint Joseph's University. While attending St. Joseph's, she was a member of their women's basketball team, and was the 2002 recipient of the Roosevelt Hunter Community Service award. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Church, Pottsville. She was also an assistant coach for Nativity's Girls Basketball team. Surviving in addition to her parents are: a brother, Kevin, of Lancaster; her paternal grandmother, Anna Cuff, of Ashland; an uncle and aunt, Thomas and Martha Cuff, of Ashland; cousins; and her love, Scott Forney, of Pottsville. Kristin was preceded in death by: her paternal grandfather, Thomas Cuff; her maternal grandparents, Martin and Helen Stanton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick's Church, Pottsville, on Thursday at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Edward O'Connor and the Rev. Mark Speitel will concelebrate. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 9:00 PM and Thursday from 9 AM until time of mass. Interment services will be private.
