Kenneth W. Rieck

Kenneth W. Rieck, 94, formerly of Hobart, IN; passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Normandie Ridge. He was the husband of Helen M. (Lute) Rieck to whom he was married for 73 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2121 Roosevelt Avenue, York with his pastor, The Rev. Skip Nizinski officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born December 2, 1922 in Hobart, IN; a son of the late Traugott and Elfredia (Siewert) Rieck, he retired from Hunter Construction. Mr. Rieck was a member of Iron Workers Local 395, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hobart. He was also a skilled woodworker. Mr. Rieck was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rieck is survived by a daughter, Louann and husband David Stetler of Dover; two sons, Kenneth B. Rieck of Sanford, FL and Robert W. and wife Susan Rieck of Abita Springs, LA; three grandchildren, Brian and wife Christina Stetler, Emily Stetler and Jennifer Rieck; a great grandson, Jaco; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Rieck; and two sisters, Clara Braun and Lorraine Lackey.
