Kay Joanne Haugh

RED LION- Kay Joanne (Heffner) Haugh, 86, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Nolan W. Haugh. The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Freysville, 2650 Freysville Rd., Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Her friend, The Reverend David Tietje will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Mrs. Haugh was born in Red Lion on July 13, 1932, the daughter of the late H. Ross and Mabel E. (Neiman) Heffner. She retired from Shaffer’s Lamp and Gift in Red Lion and then worked for Cards and More, and as a floral designer at Dandy Lion Flower Shop. Mrs. Haugh was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville, where she served as the organist for over 30 years, was a Sunday school teacher, a leader of the Luther League, sang in the choir, and was a member of WELCA (Women’s Fellowship). She was a 1949 Graduate of Red Lion High School. Along with her husband, Mrs. Haugh leaves a daughter, Wendy S. Tompkins and her husband Keith of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Paul Tompkins and his wife Robin and Liza Bacon and her husband Will; and three great grandchildren, Kyla, Emylee, and Liam. She was preceded in death by a brother, David Runkle and a great granddaughter, Evelyn Mae Bacon.
