Julia M. (Uplinger) Clark

TROUT RUN - Julia M. (Uplinger) Clark, 96, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Rose View Center, Williamsport. Born on Dec. 19, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Adam N. and Ada C. (Shaffer) Uplinger. After graduating high school, Julia owned her own restaurant and also worked as a registered nurse in Meadville, PA. She enjoyed singing, playing bingo, reading books and traveling in the fall. Julia was also a member of Trout Run United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Frank McGuiness, Reginald Embler and Wray Clark; stepdaughter, Jane R. Kupper; sister, Mary Deemer; brothers, Herbert Lynn, Paul Edward, Reed and Harvey C. Uplinger; and niece, Judy Bausinger. Left to remember Julia is stepson, Edward L. Embler and wife Bev of Erie; stepdaughter, Judith A. Joyce and husband Richard of California; several grandchildren and great grandchildren from Texas and Alaska; nephew, David Deemer of Brookville; niece Barbara Lynn Yarchuk of Sigel; as well as other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Trout Run United Methodist Church, 78 Creamery Street, Trout Run, PA 17771, with Pastor Marion Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Julia’s memory may be made to LAPS, 195 Phillips Park Drive, South Williamsport, PA 17702 (www.lapsshelter.org).
