John W. Swartz, Sr.

LEWISBURG - John W. Swartz, Sr., 75, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Danville. He was born on July 01, 1941 in Black Run and was the son of the late John and Lucinda (Derr) Swartz. John was married to the late Bessie F. (Shiffer) on January 16, 1965 and they were married for 43 years until her death on December 30, 2008. He was employed by Watson Motors of Mifflinburg for over 20 years and then went to work for D.C.N.R. as a District Forester. John enjoyed working on cars. John is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law; John Swartz, Jr. and fiancé Lisa Minium both of Lewisburg, Byron and Maritza Swartz of Tennessee, Allen Swartz and fiancé Mary Brady both of Watsontown and Bruce Shiffer of Middleburg, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Karen and Brad Wagner of Towanda, NY, Barbara Moyer of Towanda, NY and Bessie and Frank Johnson of Virginia and nine grandchildren. A public viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 01, 2016 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton. Burial will take place at a later time at the convenience to the family.
