YORK – Joel D. Poff, 54, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Melissa K. (Attig) Poff to whom he was married for 28 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2013 at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, Red Lion with The Rev. Steven C. Almquist officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Private burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born October 19, 1958 in York a son of David Eugene and Rae Jean (Peters) Poff of York, he was a 1977 graduate of Dallastown Area High School and received his Associate Degree from Penn State – York. Joel was a computer programmer for Phoenix Contact in Middletown for more than 20 years. He enjoyed music, played the violin, and was a member of the Kiltie Band of York where spent many years playing the bagpipes. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Poff is survived by two sons, Adam D. and Jacob K. Poff both at home; a brother, Jan M. and wife Catherine Poff of Cary, NC; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
